13 easy and fun ideas for celebrating New Years with kids

Happy holidays to everyone!

I hope you all had a great holiday season with friends and loved ones.

We had a great time with my in-laws and Rhett running around screaming "MERRY CHRISTMAS!" and "HO HO HO!" all day. :)

And now we get to plan for New Years Eve!!!

Probably one of my favorite holidays, next to 4th of July, because it's low stress and all about looking forward.

We are planning a "family friendly" New Years Eve-Day party since we have a 2 year old and we're inviting friends with kids mostly under the age of 6.

We'll be doing a burger bar for the adults and some fun finger foods/drinks for the kiddos.

But I wanted to share some of the food, drinks, games and crafts that we'll be using our party.

All of it is easy and low key. :)

Food

Avocado Fries With Cilantro Lemon Dipping Sauce

Grapesicles

Oven Baked Churros

Frozen Banana Chocolate Popsicles

Tater Tot Kabobs

Chocolate Pretzel Bites

Drinks

Shirley Temple with Pop Rock Rim

Ginger Ale and White Grape Juice Faux Champagne

Games

Gum-ball Tic Tac Toe

Bubble Wrap Celebration

Tape sheets of bubble wrap (both small bubbles and large ones) to a hardwood floor or driveway. When the New Year's countdown concludes, have the kids stomp on the bubble wrap to make loud popping sounds.

New Year's Eve Freeze Dance

Give each child a noisemaker or a horn. Play some peppy music and while the music is playing, invite the kids to make music with their noisemakers, too. When the music stops, the children freeze and yell "Happy New Year!"

Crafts

New Year's Collage

Confetti Tray

I hope you all have a great time ringing in the new year!
